Clad in striped white and greenish balck marble, Black and white are the symbolic colors of Siena, derived from the black and white horses of the legendary city's founders Senius and Aschius.

The Tuscan sun setting on Seina brings in the brightest orange and brown colors on Siena, hence the name "burnt Sienna" most commonly found in watercolor sets.
